MARVEL Tōkon Magik Guide: Portal Inputs and Combos

Learn Magik's documented Dark Portal positions, teleport exits, projectile interactions, and two starter routes.

Core Gameplan

Tokon.gg describes Magik as a close-range fighter who uses Dark Portal to reposition herself and route projectiles. Treat that description as a starting point rather than a matchup guarantee: first learn where each portal appears, then practice entering and leaving it on command.

Portal Placement And Teleport Options

The retained guide says Magik can place up to two Dark Portals. With PS5 notation, press R1 for the standard portal, or add a direction to change its position. When Magik is next to an existing portal, R1 enters it and moves her near the opponent.

After entering, hold Forward for the documented rear exit or Up for the documented overhead exit. Press R1 again to leave with the guide's teleport attack. These options change position, but this page does not claim that an exit is safe, unavoidable, or guaranteed to open the opponent.

Beginner Combos

Start with two short routes listed by the same guide. Read M as Medium, H as Heavy, and QS as Quick Skill.

  • Basic route: Down M > M > H > Down H > Jump Cancel > Aerial H.
  • Poke route: M > H > Back + QS.

Practice each route from the same starting position. The source lists the inputs but does not establish damage, timing windows, matchup reliability, or guaranteed follow-ups.

Projectile Portal Setups

Demon Fire uses R2 in the retained PS5 notation, and the guide says the projectile can travel through a portal. Demon Flame uses Down + R2 and is also documented as interacting with a portal. Place the portal first, use one projectile, and observe where it appears before combining the interaction with a longer route.

Practice Priorities

Practice Drill

Portal consistency check

Place the same portal five times, name its position before it appears, then enter it and choose one exit. Reset after every attempt. Add the teleport attack only when placement and exit choice are repeatable.

Next, perform each beginner route five times on both sides. These repetitions are a practice structure, not a claim that five attempts produce match readiness.

Team And System Links

Use the Training Mode routine to schedule portal drills, then review Combo Basics for shared notation and route structure. Compare Magik with the full roster before assigning her a team role; this page does not rank her or prescribe a universal team.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Magik's Dark Portal work?

Place a portal with R1 and a documented direction. Press R1 beside an existing portal to enter, then choose the retained exit or teleport-attack input.

What are Magik's portal inputs on PS5?

R1 places the standard portal. Forward + R1, Down + R1, and Down-Forward + R1 change its position. R1 beside a portal enters it.

Which Magik combos should a beginner practice first?

Begin with the listed basic route and the shorter M > H > Back + QS poke route. Verify both in the current version and add portal interactions separately.
